Statement of Intent
To complete a finished version of a series of magazines covers and content pages that would be suitable for the target audience of 16 - 25 year olds and would all be following a similar style. Across both the two magazine covers and the contents pages I will include a Bauhaus 93 font to create the 70s effect that I am aiming towards for a group that is simply inspired by the era or love the retro fashion style. To ensure that the magazine name is well known I will put in a large font at the top of the contents page and in the top left corners, so it is easily recognised as a magazine that focuses on fashionable trends from the past that are making a potential comeback in the present day. The colour scheme of my magazine covers, and contents pages are of a cream background and colours like brown, red, oranges, blues and yellow to again enhance the seventies aesthetic. For the images I would use a various amount of different outfits and poses either myself of my friend will use as it has been seen in the magazines that I will study and this would be representing two different social groups within the project. The poses that I will capture in photoshoots would be mainly composed from the 70s style with a slight modern twist due to the era making a comeback in the modern day. The products that I will produce will be decorated with little images of the vinyl records or cartoonish flowers that compliment the style of the 70s aesthetic and the colour scheme pulling the piece together.
The website I will create will be following from the same codes and conventions of the fashion magazine. I will be using the same Bauhaus font for the title of the website, menu and for the text within the website pages. The website headings would be a play on words relating to the seventies for example, "Radical Jewellery". For the colour scheme I will be using the cream backgrounds to keep the similarity between the magazines and the browns, pinks, oranges and reds. The website would include icons such as a search button, a mail button and an account button to keep a familiar feel of the website on the top left hand side and would keep to the colour scheme. I will also include icons linked with social media due to it being on the rise and that mostly everyone would know how to use them. The linked page I will create for this website would be from the fashion menu button and it would be used for jewellery.
For my products the magazines and website would be targeted towards the same audience and would be linked together via colour scheme using the same creams, browns and the correct selected colours within the colour scheme and this will allow the style of the products to continuously flow throughout the magazine covers and the contents pages. The font and the masthead I will keep the similarity as well through the products. To connect these two together further I either intend to have a QR code in a small corner of the magazine to achieve it's reach to the correct intended audience.
