Magazine Analysis
The masthead is hidden mostly behind the celebritys head and is in a different colour than usual as it takes on many different types depending on the theme of the magazine. The colour scheme for this cover is a variation of navy blues and a mix of difffferent greens, this makes the blue stand out as well as the music artist on the front of the cover. The font sizes for this Vogue cover are quite large making it easier to read and morte space being taken up by them, this could also include how much the size of the font is the more empahsis is displayed from it demonstatrating the potential importance of the topic; the fonts for this magazine cover are similar and have no differencces except in size. The main image is of the music artist Billie Eilish dressed in a blue/green suit and has no supporting images around her. The cover lines of this magazine is of a single statement about changes, however the main cover line is in a quite large size claiming her greatness and her journey through the music industry. The date line and selling line would be with the barcode in the bottom left corner of the cover. When using the rule of thirds on the magazine it is noticeable that the image of Billie Eilish takes up quite a large portion of the magazine with the masthead/logo being partilally covered by ger aswell.
The masthead of the magazine is in the top left centre and is in grey next to the celebritys head only being covered a little and would normally take on similar colour in different editions however for the exceptions of magazine editions with red, orange and bold blues. The colour scheme for this magazine can be made up of three main colours/hues and as shown that is blue, red and pink, this also inspires the type of style magazine I would want to create as it would be for the teenagers with a retro fashion. The font sizes are quite small for the cover lines howevever quite big for the name of the actor on the front and for the magazines name, and again the fonts are thte sme and have no differences. The main cover line is about the actor who is featured in the magazine and is on the cover and the other cover lines are in the top right hand corner describing what else might feature in the magazine. The main image is of the actor Cillian Murphy in a bold blue shirt making him stand out from the rest of the cover and not really any supporting images however there is the furniture and cushion is in the same area as him and finally the furniture.wals have different patterns on them in this similar area. The date line/selling line is not easilty seen on here as it is on most magazines and would be potentially on the back of the magazine where the barcode would be. The rule of thirds is that when using it shows the composition of a piece and that in this one it shows the image of the actor taking up most of the bottom right hand corner/side.
The masthead of this magazine is written in a different font from its modern editions and has a lot of space at the top of th magazine. The colour scheme of the magazine seems to be quite dark with the browns and blacks unlike modern magazines that can be known to be quite bold, the dark colours are also established within the hair colouras as well to ensure that it is an old edition of the magazinee and it is paying tribute to its first ever edition. The main image is of a woman with the hairstyle and fashion of the early 20th century and the supporting image is of another woman with a different hairstyle and fashion sens epotentially from the sixties again this is signifying the length the magazine has beeen around for. The main cover lines of this magazine are next to the images of the women abd are stating the anniverary of the magazine company. The date line and selling line of this cover is just below the masthead of the magazine in a smaller different font. The fonts for this magazine cover is similar to each other but have different sizes to apprecieate the anniversary and to acknowledge the selling date of the edition under the masthead. When applying the rule of thirds to thi magazine the images of the women are mostly in the centre or at bottom right corner leaving much space for the logo and the background colour.
